This is a rare advertising postcard promoting the National Tour engagement of the FRANZ LEHAR, VICTOR LEON and LEO STEIN Viennese Operetta "THE MERRY WIDOW" at the Majestic Theatre in Port Huron, Michigan. (The Original Broadway production opened October 21st, 1907 at the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City and ran for 416 performances while simultaneously playing on the road.) ..... The musical starred CHARLES MEAKINS as "Prince Danilo" and MABEL WILBUR as "Sonia" (the Merry Widow) and featured R. E. GRAHAM, IVY SCOTT, HAROLD BLAKE, CHARLES W. KAUFMAN, F. P. McGIRR, HARRY BURGESS, GRACE LINDSAY, F. J. McCARTHY, LEONA BRANDT, FRED FREAR, MINNIE OLTON, LLOYD MONTGOMERY, JAMES WHELAN, GEORGE DURYEA, NICHOLAS BODAY, CYNTHIA PEROT, VIOLA KNAPP, RITA BELLAIRE, NAN TONER, ANNETTE JORDAN, GRACE LOCKER, LEONIE CUTLER, FLORENCE BROOKS and LILLIAN HARRISON ..... Lehár subsequently made changes for productions in London in 1907 (adding two new numbers), and Berlin in the 1920's, but the definitive version is basically that of the original production .
