    This is a rare advertising postcard promoting the return engagement of the
    Metropolitan Opera production of the
    GEORGE GERSHWIN, IRA GERSHWIN and DU BOSE HEYWARD American Folk Opera "PORGY AND BESS"
    at Lincoln Center in New York City
    . (The first Metropolitan Opera performance of "Porgy and Bess" was staged on February 6th, 1985. Following the shutdown due to the pandemic, this production returned to Lincoln Center on October 31st, 2021 for thirteen performances, closing December 12th, 2021
