Original Irish wolfhound pin 1/1 STERLING silver sighthound by Cindy A. Conter

Gorgeous, one of a kind, sterling silver pin of a beautiful Irish Wolfhound head study.
I made this piece by using the lost wax jewelry method (my business name when I started making mostly jewelry originals, was Lost Wax Jewelry by Cindy A. Conter, I started selling my art work at dog shows in 1972. )
I developed one of my own techniques of taking a flat wax sheet and painting the hot wax onto it to create my hound images, I'd use a dental tool to sculpture in some of the fine details, like around the mouth, the lips, teeth, and so on. I'd cut out the piece, invest it, cast it in sterling silver, clean it up and polish it. This was a lot of work and if I made a mistake during casting, I had to start completely over as I did not make molds on my work, I did only originals (unless commissioned for special events and then I did limited editions. )
I made this piece is 1991 from a photo that I took (I used the photo to do several pieces after this one), it is signed on the front with my initials I no longer do original sterling silver jewelry, my last custom piece was made in 1996.  I had to give up vendorships at dog show many years ago, so I am now selling my favorite sterling silver pieces on EBAY.
